I Want to be Happy: The Jackie Washington Story

This film tells the story of an astounding 86-year-old Canadian icon and legendary jazz singer, guitarist, storyteller and personality, Jackie Washington. His musical repertoire spans nearly 1,300 songs and his remarkable life covers close to a century of musical and Black history beginning from the time of segregation. Rubbing shoulders with all the greats of the time,  the film includes rare archives, numerous live performances, emotional interviews and a road trip tour across Canada.
